Portfolio Accounting Internship

FISHER INVESTMENTS is a privately-held investment management firm headquartered in the San Francisco Bay Area with a track record of successfully managing portfolios for high-net-worth private clients and some of the world's preeminent institutions. JOB SUMMARY:
The Trading/Portfolio Accounting Department ensures the integrity of the data used by the Investment Policy Committee, which manages client portfolios. Interns will gain first hand knowledge of the mechanics of the securities industry and the investment management process. Through learning the daily operational responsibilities of the role and by attending educational seminars that cover a wide range of topics, from trading to research, summer interns will obtain a better understanding of Fisher Investments' philosophies.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Communicate all relevant trade & transactional information to the appropriate parties in a timely and accurate manner.• Liaise with custodian & broker counterparties, in-house client service personnel and research analysts.• Reconcile items from custodian and broker data feeds versus portfolio trade and billing activities within the portfolio accounting system.• Process capital flows in a timely and accurate manner.• Work to resolve any possible situations that might create exposure to the firm with management and the involved parties.• Assist management with ad hoc projects or requests when necessary.

The Position
The intern will learn the types of companies that are of interest to Mainsail Partners based on the firm’s investment model by assisting Mainsail Associates to search and identify potential companies for the Associates to call upon. In addition, the intern will work on various other research projects to aid Mainsail Associates in their responsibilities.

Qualifications
A junior in college with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5. Candidates should be intelligent and personable as well as possess a basic understanding of how businesses operate. Previous work experience is a prerequisite for this position. We are looking for a hard worker who has a genuine interest in business and is willing to work hard to get a unique experience in an intensive learning environment. Preference is for a candidate that is committed to working with us for a minimum of one year.

Hours
Flexible, but a minimum commitment of 12 hours a week. There is the potential for the Intern to increase involvement and hours over the summer months. The Intern will need to arrange transportation to Mainsail’s office in San Francisco’s Financial District.

Part-time Intern
Yeske Buie is seeking a part-time intern for our San Francisco, CA office. Our office is located at 220 Montgomery St., convenient to the USF campus. The candidate must be pursuing a Finance or Economics degree and have an interest in exploring a career in the financial services industry.

The job duties include, but are not limited to answering phones, data entry, scanning, filing, client database maintenance, assisting client services administrator with processing client paperwork, and other special projects as assigned.

We are seeking someone who is extremely detail oriented, has a positive attitude, and loves to learn.

The hours are 15 -20 hours per week and we can be flexible based on a student's class schedule. The pay is $10 per hour.
